Curly Hair Tutorial: "My Wash & Go"
Dec 28, 2017

My curly hair has always been something I struggled with.  Growing up bi-racial, my mom had no idea how to style or deal with my crazy curly hair. After 25 years of having curly hair, I can proudly say I know how to brush and style my locks. Getting my curls to where they are today was no easy task.

Covering Acne & Scars Makeup Tutorial

Until I find a magic potion or solution, make-up is my go-to way to feel more confident in my acne-prone and scarred skin. I am super passionate about the power of make-up and how it can make a person feel (especially someone with bad acne and unruly skin). I know there are so many strong opinions on make-up out there. I totally understand both sides, but for me, this is what works!

However, finding the right products that suit my skin and don't break the bank at the same time can be a challenge.  That's why I wanted to share with you guys my absolute favorite drugstore make-up products.

Skin Care: Acne Solutions
Sep 1, 2016

I have constantly struggled with my skin since I was in middle school. Still not quite sure how I survived that awkward stage with frizzy hair and Abercrombie hoodies. If only I had these products 10+ years ago, I think it would of saved many bad make-up days trying to cover blemishes and feeling conscious. Nonetheless, Proactive was the only solution back in the day, and Jessica Simpson just didn't quite sell me on the fact that was the only product that solved her acne woes.

As the Southeast has shutdown for a “snow storm”, FB kindly reminded me that two years ago today @michaelsommers and I went car camping and woke up to this magical, winter wonderland. 😍Granted, I did catch the flu later that week... I’m still convinced that was just a coincidence. Either way, if you find yourself in Germany during the winter, these mountains are worth a quick visit (perhaps just don’t sleep in your car). 🗻🌲
Swooning over @po.mkt and wondering why I haven’t visited this precious, little shop sooner. It’s the best spot if you’re looking for gifts, natural beauty products, fun t-shirts, and all sorts of things. 💫
⛰This weekend is making up for starting 2019 with the stomach flu and being stuck in the house for one too many days.

We got to celebrate one of our favorite human’s birthday, explore Asheville and all its hippie goodness, woke up to catch the sunrise in the Blue Ridge Parkway, and finally we got to show off Max Patch to our German. At least the first weekend of 2019 was much better than my first few days 😉
Merry Christmas from our little Sommers clan. 🎄💫
Had a rare DIY moment and made “Dried Orange Garland” for our kitchen window 🍊🌿 If you’re looking for an inexpensive and easy holiday décor piece (that smells lovely, too) here’s all ya need:
— 2 large oranges sliced 1/4”
— Pretty twine
— Parchment Paper
Heat your oven to 250°, slice your oranges and pat dry, lay the slices evenly on a baking sheet, and bake for 3 hours. Flip them about 1.5 hours.
These two have my heart big time. 🎄❤️ Now that our house is getting in the full Christmas Spirit, any cheesy holiday movie recommendations? We are on babysitting duty tonight and I figured it’s the perfect time to watch out first Christmas movie of the year 💫
